The Washington Jesuit Academy is a Middle School (6th, 7th and 8th grades) for boys from low-income situations. The school offers full scholarships to these boys if they meet financial criteria. The school places heavy emphasis on academically challenging curriculum preparing for strong academic college-prep high schools.
The WJA is known for having motivated, conscientious, hard-working students and highly qualified teachers. The school takes pride in its small class sizes (typically 12 students in a class) and offers a required 6 week Summer Enrichment Program. The school has a religious foundation in the Jesuit tradition, the Catholic religious order which sponsors Georgetown University, Georgetown Preparatory School and Gonzaga College High School. The admission process requires a complete application form (including financial information and school records, an interview with the Headmaster, participation in Saturday Morning Admissions Program in the spring (total of 3 Saturday mornings) and a successful completion of our 6-week Summer Enrichment Program.
