Everybody talks about education reform. We live it.
Everybody talks about education reform. We live it.
“At the Washington Jesuit Academy, students participate in sports and clubs outside of the traditional school day. They develop an elevated sense of worth and purpose when they are engaged in these meaningful activities. They become more cooperative, not just with their teachers but with their peers, too, and they participate more in class without fear of failure. Through athletics especially, we see students learning to accept criticism and discovering their own internal motivators. Above all, the skills and character traits they develop after school translate to confidence in the classroom.
As an example, 7th grader Brandon has improved drastically since joining the football team last fall. His leadership ability in the classroom has skyrocketed since he emerged as a leader on the field. He’s more disciplined. He’s discovering what it means to be a student-athlete, and it’s made a real difference in his schoolwork.”
