There is a variety of ways in which you can offer your support to the Washington Jesuit Academy. Below is a list of types of gifts or ways to participate in a charitable donation to the school.
Programmatic Gifts - The education and experience the students of the WJA receives goes beyond the classroom. It includes providing three meals per day, spiritual growth and development, lessons learned in participating in team sports, counseling support while the students are at the Academy and transition and acclimation support after graduation. Donors are able to designate their gift to the continuation of a specific program or the permanence of funding through an endowment. Annual Giving - The Annual Fund at the Washington Jesuit Academy provides unrestricted gifts to the operating budget of the school. These gifts prove to be especially valuable because they can be applied to programs that are most in need of financial assistance. The Annual Fund allows the Academy to attract the most experienced, educated and talented faculty; makes funds available for enrichment programs and varied extracurricular activities; and provides the necessary funding for building maintenance and grounds keeping. For online donations, click here. Endowment Gifts - Endowment funds collected are invested permanently with a percentage of the income earned spent on a yearly basis. The WJA has already established the Claire Z. Carey Faculty Endowment for the recruitment and retention of talented and dedicated teachers. As the Academy's endowment grows, the more income the Academy will have to offset yearly operating costs. The Academy is interested in establishing endowments for student scholarships, department chairs, buildings & grounds needs and for its nutrition program. Planned Gifts - The Academy accepts planned gifts through a variety of mechanisms. A bequest, gift of real estate or insurance, a gift annuity, or charitable lead or remainder trust, in addition to a variety of creative ways can sustain the Academy's future. If you would like more information to include your estate. Combined Federal Campaign - One way of contributing to WJA is by payroll deduction. WJA is now a participant in the Combined Federal Campaign and our CFC# is 14236. Please use the contact us form to notify us of your gift. CFC only releases the names of donors, not amounts given. If you would like to make a gift, or wish to receive further information, call Merry Cavanaugh, Director of Development, at (202) 832-7679 ext. 204 or by e-mail at mcavanaugh@wjacademy.org. |
